Vermont is one of the most rural and history-rich regions in the United States. You will be exploring the Mad River Valley, nestled between the Green Mountains known to be one of the most beautiful location in New England. Steeped in classic American colonial charm, you will enjoy steepled churches and picturesque mountain villages on Icelandic horses known for the smooth four-beat running walk, the tolt.
Itinerary:
DAY 1: Sunday
Transfer from the airport to your Inn.
DAY 2: Monday
You will meet your horse and your fellow riders at the riding facility. Then you will ride to the Mad River for a picnic lunch. Trails shaded by native sugar maple, pine and oak trees will lead your Inn. A barbecue dinner will conclude your special day.
DAY 3 : Tuesday
Your horse will carry you across lush valleys, freshly scented forests and robust farmlands.
DAY 4: Wednesday
Today you
will ride across the “Enchanted Way”, popular with cross country skiers and site of breathtaking scenery. Your afternoon is free to enjoy a canoe trip, massage or visit to the quaint town of Stowe.
DAY 5: Thursday
Your ride will explore the Camel’s Hump State Forest. The mountain is easily recognized by its unique double-humped profile. The trail will be trimmed with dark green alpine shrubbery and endangered red spruce trees.
DAY 6: Friday
You will feel like you have stepped back into American colonial times as you ride along century old stone walls and farm lands. After one last trek through the lush Vermont mountains, you will return to your Inn.
DAY 7: Saturday
Transfer to the airport.
